Folks, western states like Colorado have long been prone to wildfires, but the effects of climate change — drier summers, prolonged droughts, and the buildup of dry underbrush — have intensified and extended our fire seasons.
Now, wildfires today are far more catastrophic — growing larger, faster, and putting more Colorado communities at risk than ever before. In the past seven years alone, Colorado has seen four of the five most dangerous wildfires in our state’s entire history. That means we need to adapt — fast.
That’s why John is proud to cosponsor the Fix Our Forests Act to expedite vegetation management, reduce fire hazards, and utilize prescribed burns to strengthen Colorado’s wildfire readiness as quickly as possible.
Amid all of the chaos and dysfunction in Washington, John is still committed to bringing people together and moving legislation forward that addresses the real challenges facing Coloradans. The bottom line is, we need to act NOW to mitigate wildfires and protect our homes, businesses, and the environment before it’s too late.
This critical legislation has already passed the House. The next step is getting this bill passed in the Senate, and we’re calling on John’s top supporters to amplify his message: Please, if you’re with us, will you sign our petition calling on the Senate to pass John’s Fix Our Forests Act and supercharge Colorado’s wildfire resilience? → [[link removed]]
