Sam and I have been crisscrossing between Colorado and DC so I could do my job since he was a newborn. He was there with me when I pressed to allow new parents in Congress to vote remotely. And he was there with me as we fought the GOP’s scheme to gut health care for babies and moms across the country.

After taking 24 flights, voting in the middle of the night multiple times and overnight at the Capitol, Sam finally started daycare after being on the waitlist for over a year.

If you’ve ever traveled long distances with a baby, you’ll know that it isn’t exactly stress-free. But I’ve never forgotten that Sam and I are the lucky ones.

Most people can’t bring their kid to work. And far too many Coloradans still live in child care deserts where child care is either out-of-reach or non-existent altogether.

That’s why I continue to fight for policies to address the challenges that so many face and why it’s essential we have more regular people in Washington who understand those struggles.

Unfortunately, Republicans love to claim that they’re the party of “family values.” But if you take a good look at what their priorities actually are, the truth becomes pretty clear. And it’s not pretty.

They’ve opposed paid family leave at every turn.

And because of Donald Trump’s attacks on Head Start, preschools across the country could be forced to shutter their doors - leaving thousands of working-class families with nowhere to turn.

As a mom, it’s devastating to think about all the kids who will fall through the cracks just so millionaires and billionaires can get even richer.

Our kids deserve far better. That’s why I’m working, alongside Sam, to change Congress for the better next year. To make sure we have people who care more about the opportunity of the kids in their districts than the 33 billionaires in this country.

If you’re with me, I’d be so grateful to have your support. Every donation, no matter how big or how small, makes a real, concrete difference in my fight to flip the House blue and make life just a little bit easier for the moms, dads, and kids who need our help.

Sam and I won’t stop working to change the hearts and minds of those in Washington, but we can’t do it alone.

Thank you,

Brittany
