John,
Next to President Donald Trump, I have repeatedly said that the second most dangerous man in America is Attorney General Bill Barr.
Bill Barr took over as Attorney General in 2019 and ever since he’s done exactly what he was nominated to do – carry Trump’s dirty legal water, and be his Roy Cohn. Again and again, he has undermined the rule of law and the impartial administration of justice to protect Trump.
Over the past year, Barr has engaged in a long list of misconduct: he lied about the Mueller Report’s findings, intervened in criminal cases to protect Trump cronies like Michael Flynn and Roger Stone, used the powers of the Department of Justice to go after the president’s enemies, and played a key role in ordering peaceful protestors to be pepper sprayed outside the White House to make way for Trump’s notorious photo-op. And it will only get worse as November approaches.
I’ve called on Barr to resign for these craven acts. And I guess it bothers him because Barr went on Fox News this week to attack me, call me “infuriating” and encourage my constituents to vote against me in November. The sitting Attorney General.
If Bill Barr thinks I’m infuriating, I must be doing something right.
I refuse to stop defending our democracy and rule of law, no matter what they say, and no matter what attacks Trump and his hand-picked hatchet man throw at me.
If you’re with me, I could really use your support right now with our next big FEC fundraising deadline approaching next Tuesday. Pitch in $10 or more to show Barr and Trump that you’re with me, even if they find it “infuriating.”
