Instead of talking about their vision for the future, extremist Republicans are busy attacking Deb and spreading false information. Our community deserves better.
Outside interests have spent more than $200k claiming that Deb voted for the Democrats’ budget that increased taxes and against the Republicans’ “balanced” budget. These claims are a misrepresentation of the facts. The Republican budget cuts were inhumane. The Democratic budget tax increases were unbalanced. Deb voted no on both.
Here’s what Deb did vote for:
To Stop Tax Increases — The Democratic budget raised taxes on those who can least afford it: working families and small businesses.
To Protect Our Air and Water — The Republican budget cut clean energy investments and programs to reduce air and water pollution.
To Protect Healthcare — The Republican budget slashed healthcare support for elderly, blind, and disabled Washingtonians.
To Keep Our Community Safe — The Republican budget would have led to vacancies in the Department of Corrections and juvenile rehabilitation facilities.
