I’ve filed a 34th lawsuit against Trump. Here’s why:
The Trump administration has abruptly restricted access to more than a dozen public benefit programs based on immigration status. We’re talking about soup kitchens, mental health and substance use disorder programs, shelters for domestic violence survivors, and other social safety net programs that vulnerable people in our communities rely on.
It’s inhumane, and it’s illegal.
This isn’t about waste, fraud, or abuse. This is about Trump’s anti-immigrant agenda — and primarily, it’s going after working moms and their young children.
I won’t stand by and let the President violate the law in service of his inhumane and hostile campaign against immigrants. So I’ve said this before, and I’m saying it again: We’ll see President Trump in court.
If you’re with me on this and want to see Trump held accountable to the law, please sign on today.
These programs exist because as a country, we’ve decided we are all better off when everyone has the opportunity to succeed. Requiring them to verify immigration status will have a devastating impact: People in need will lose access to nutrition, healthcare, and education. Unnecessary burdens will be placed on the organizations providing these critical services. And federal funding could be jeopardized, putting these organizations at risk of shuttering entirely.
Trump and his administration continue to blatantly violate the law — and every time they do, I’ll be here ready to fight back.
To join me in the fight, please add your name today.
Thanks for speaking out.
