During his tenure as Governor, Inslee helped make Washington a national leader on firearm safety - signing more than 60 lifesaving firearm policies into law and partnering with organizations like ours in communities across the state. Now, he’s continuing that work.
As you know, the fight to end gun violence isn’t so easy. But, we know what works: creating change on the state level. While federal action remains stalled, states have stepped up to lead by passing commonsense policies, investing in community violence intervention, and prioritizing public health over politics.
Here’s the thing.. We have no time to waste. Firearms are still the leading cause of death for children and teens. That reality should shake us and drive us to act. We don’t have the luxury to let off the gas, not when lives are on the line and solutions are laid out before us. |
