Friend,
Last night, New York was ground zero for a progressive earthquake. In NY-14, NY-15, NY-16, and NY-17, Progressives notched impressive victories made possible by Data for Progress’ sophisticated polling operation.
We’re far from done. Together, we’ll keep pushing for real progressive leadership in Congress! Chip in $5 to find the next Jamaal Bowman or AOC!
In NY-15, progressive Ritchie Torres beat Rubén Díaz Sr., an avowed homophobe and Ted Cruz fan.
In NY-16, Jamaal Bowman, a public school principal, defeated Rep. Eliot Engel in the NY-16 primary. Bowman ran on Medicare for All and a Green New Deal, Rep. Engel voted for the Iraq war and against Net Neutrality.
In NY-17, Mondaire Jones, a progressive in NY-17, is also poised for victory against David Carlucci, a former State Assembly member who caucused with Republicans,.
And of course, in NY-14, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez cruised to victory over a CNBC anchor who recently lived in Trump Tower.
These are deep blue districts that deserve real progressive representation. Because of our work, they’re going to have it. Donate $5 to build the progressive movement!
The Washington Post said:1
A key player in sounding alarm bells on the left has been Data for Progress, a group led by activist Sean McElwee that conducted polls in these districts. The surveys, released earlier this month, furthered a dual objective — to raise awareness that Díaz and Carlucci were in position to win and to identify their strongest challengers. Besides nudging influential interest groups to take sides and, in some cases, spend money, the polls also activated online communities of small-dollar liberal donors.
Data for Progress is building the infrastructure that progressives will need to build a movement inside Washington that matches the energy of the grassroots. We rely on grassroots donations, just like the candidates we support. Chip in $5 today to build the movement!

Thanks,
