I just got back from Philadelphia where CYD’s delegation attended the Young Democrats of America (YDA) Convention to elect new national leadership including electing our very own Parshan Khosravi as the YDA Western Regional Vice President! Congratulations to Parshan, and please keep reading below for more details as well as a great event CYD is co-hosting this week with Emerge California to recruit young Democratic women to run for office!

As I said in my last email, it is absolutely critical that we have Young Democrats stepping up and into leadership positions to fight back against Trump and his MAGA extremist Republican enablers.

CYD is still looking for a few members to join our Platform Committee, our Policy and Legislation Committee, and our Political Affairs Committee.

CYD’s Regional Directors appoint Young Democrats from their region to serve on these statewide committees that influence the policy, political and legislative decisions made by CYD. 2025 YDA Convention Recap

We had over 20 California Young Democrats make the trip out to Philadelphia to represent CYD and help elect new leadership for YDA and its caucuses. We had a great time, meeting Young Democrats from across the country, and making plans to flip Congress blue in 2026.

I am so excited that Parshan - a past CYD Communications Director, National Committeeperson, and a longtime CYD chapter leader - was elected as a YDA Vice President.

Parshan will be instrumental in coordinating the Western State chapters to make sure we flip Congress and take back our country from the grasps of MAGA fascism.

I am also excited that a number of California Young Democrats were elected to help lead YDA’s various Caucuses: congratulations to Mohamed Almouazzen, Kate Chavez, Alondra Esquivel García, Annie Koruga, and Xavier Nunez-Sundara for all stepping up and being elected to YDA Caucus leadership positions!

It was great to be able to speak at the YDA Convention, connect with fellow Young Democrats, and we even brought the fun (and hotness) co-hosting a raging karaoke party!

Thank you to everyone putting in the hard work. Stay strong and keep fighting. Together we will defeat MAGA extremism and save America for our future.
