We talk a lot about playing the long game. But this week? We’re feeling the results.

Here’s what just happened because young, bold leaders ran for something — and won:

1. In Houston, Councilmember Mario Castillo helped pass a policy moving public comment sessions to 6pm (instead of 2pm) — so working people can finally show up and speak up.
2. In Massachusetts, RFS alums Willie Burnley Jr. and Jivan Sobrinho-Wheeler led a successful push to ban unfair broker fees for renters. Landlords can no longer stick tenants with thousands in surprise costs.
3. Nationally, the launch of our first-ever candidate support program with Bernie Sanders packed the (Zoom) room — more than 1,300+ future candidates showed up, ready to learn, lead, and launch their campaigns.
4. And the big one: After Zohran Mamdani’s stunning win, more than 10,000 people reached out to us about running for office. That’s not just momentum — that’s a movement.

This is what happens when we invest in local leadership — and we’re just getting started.
