When I first decided to run for Congress in 2018, I never imagined it would go this way.

Back then, I was up against a five-term Republican incumbent in a district that hadn’t elected a Democrat in decades. But against the odds, we flipped that seat and helped take back the House. Together, we sent a clear message that Colorado was ready for change.

Since then, it’s been an incredible journey.

I was humbled to be named the Colorado Democratic Party’s Democrat of the Year, a reminder that hard work on the ground matters.

I’ve been honored to serve as the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee’s Recruitment Chair, working to elect servant leaders who put people first.

And I’ve been able to keep fighting for what matters most — lowering costs for Colorado families, fighting corruption, and stopping Republican cuts to Medicaid — thanks to the incredible supporters I’ve met with along the way.

But despite all we’ve accomplished, I know that the fight is far from over. Donald Trump and his allies continue to push policies that benefit the wealthiest few while leaving everyday Americans behind.

That’s why this moment is so critical. We need to keep building on our progress, fight to take back the House, and support working families across Colorado and the country.
