Survey for you…
Take a look at what Trump has been saying:
A simple redistricting - we will pick up 5 seats. [[link removed]]
Q: Are you calling for a complete redrawing of the congressional map? Trump: No, a very simple redrawing, so we pick up five seats
To be abundantly clear, those 5 seats Trump is looking to steal are here in Texas. And he is able to put his dream into reality thanks to his buddy Greg Abbott, who is more than happy to do his bidding.
More on why this is happening below… but we want to hear directly from you:
Do you think Trump and Abbott are abusing their power with a politicized, unprecedented call for redistricting?

I know — you’ve heard me talk about this upcoming special session a lot lately. But what’s happening under Greg Abbott (and Donald Trump’s) direction in Austin starting this week is too important to let slide — they’re trying to rig the 2026 midterms for Donald Trump. Let me explain:
As you know, our communities are still reeling from the floods. We should have a governor focused on recovery who understands that flood relief and future preparedness are the ONLY reasons to even consider calling a special session right now.
But instead, Abbott called it WEEKS ago with a secret far-right agenda to redraw the Texas congressional map mid-decade — an unprecedented act — to silence Democratic voters in an aim to save the U.S. House for Donald Trump in 2026.
Quite frankly, this is an emergency. Not just for Texas, but for all of American democracy. We can’t allow Republican governors to just start redrawing state maps to secure power for Donald Trump and Congressional Republicans.Do you agree this is an emergency and a blatant power grab?

I want to be very clear, redistricting occurs post-census every ten years in an effort to rebalance districts based on population to ensure all citizens are fairly represented. This call for redistricting mid-decade is so clearly politically charged. It isn’t about fair representation; it is about silencing voters so Republicans can hold their power.
And there is more on the agenda for this special session that matters to the lives of Texans statewide. Outside of flood relief and future preparedness, they are considering a slate of culture war distractions like THC bans, attacks on local control, and even more bills aimed at our already-vulnerable trans community.
We need to be operating on all cylinders to cut through the noise and lay out what Republicans SAY is happening, and what they’re really up to.
Every dollar we raise right now is going right back out the door to contact every Dem voter in these Red-lined districts. They deserve to know their voices could be silenced with time to push back. Donate now to help us with this critical outreach. [[link removed]]
Thanks for staying in the fight with us — especially when they’re counting on us being too overwhelmed or heartbroken to speak out.
In solidarity,
Kendall
We are the Texas Dems. We're protecting Texans from Republican extremists and their unending stream of misinformation statewide. Let's be clear, Texas Republicans have drawn district lines to choose the voters they want, and D.C. Republicans have poured tens of millions of dollars in dark money into Texas. We are on the front lines of pushing back against their influence with voters.
Taking Texas back from extremist Republicans is going to take all of us. Will you chip in now to help us elect Democrats who will work hard to represent all Texans, and not just the wealthy few? [[link removed]]
