This past week, the Young Democrats of America held their 2025 National Convention in Philadelphia.
Hundreds of Young Democrats from across the country attended, including three of our own staff members.
There, our staff learned vital skills like grassroots organizing, effective messaging, and strategies to bring disengaged voters back to the Democratic Party--skills that are essential right here in Maricopa County.
At the Maricopa County Democratic Party, we are proud to encourage young people to get involved and take advantage of opportunities like this convention. These events invest in the future of our party and our country.
That’s why we created our Youth Engagement Committee , which brings together five of the largest Young Democrat organizations in the state. We also plan to host joint fundraisers in the near future to support these pivotal groups and help them grow.
But here’s the truth: Young Democrat organizations are drastically underfunded. We can’t allow that to continue. These young leaders are the future of our country. If we want them to succeed, we must give them the resources and support they truly deserve.
We’ve said it before: the Maricopa County Democratic Party is deeply committed to activating young voters and uplifting the next generation of Democratic leaders, throughout this cycle and beyond.
If we want to win in 2026 and 2028, engaging young voters isn’t optional — it’s essential.
