John,
Earlier this month, Trump and his Republican cronies passed a budget that will throw 17 million people off their health care and threaten thousands of rural hospitals and nursing homes.
It’s an unforgivable betrayal. And we promised we’d kick the people who supported that bill out of office. Today, we’re proud to announce our first two WFP champion candidates for Congress in 2026 — whose victories would each bring us closer to ending the GOP House majority.
Amie Baca-Oehlert is a Colorado teacher, mother, and union leader who has dedicated her career to helping ordinary people get a fair shake. Her opponent, Rep. Gabe Evans (R), has dedicated most of his time in Congress to stripping health care from families and demonizing immigrant communities — and he only won his last election by less than 2,500 votes.
Randy Villegas is a California educator, former journalist, community organizer, and child of immigrants. He’s running against Rep. David Valadao (R) — who repeatedly promised his constituents that he wouldn’t vote for cuts to Medicaid — but then did.
If we want more members of Congress that put working families first, no matter what the billionaire class says — we need to elect more people like Amie Baca-Oehlert and Randy Villegas. Make a split donation to their campaigns and WFP today to end GOP control of the Congress and send two champions to Congress who will actually stand with working people.

John, these are not longshot candidates.
They have an immense amount of public support already. And they’re running smart, authentic, on-the-ground campaigns.
They know what their communities need because they come from the same working-class backgrounds as the voters in Colorado’s 8th and California’s 22nd districts.
And most importantly: they have you.
Over the last few months, millions of people have shown up in the streets, at town halls, or called or texted their elected officials to demand accountability.
Rep. Gabe Evans and Rep. David Valadao betrayed each and every one of those people with their votes last month to kick 17 million people off health care, give massive tax cuts to the rich, and turbocharge ICE’s abuses.
Split a donation today between our first two endorsed candidates for Congress in 2026.
In solidarity,
Team WFP
