Dear Supporter,

Something is seriously wrong at the Social Security Administration (SSA) — and the people who depend on it are paying the price.

SSA has made troubling changes that continue under Commissioner Frank Bisignano’s leadership: cutting staff, reducing services and making it harder for seniors, people with disabilities and retirees to get the help they need. All while wait times grow longer and backlogs continue to pile up.

This isn’t just a bureaucratic failure — it’s a betrayal. And the buck stops with Commissioner Bisignano.

That’s why we’re asking every supporter to sign our emergency petition ( [link removed] ) — not just to SSA, but to your member of Congress. We’re calling on them to deliver this petition directly to Commissioner Bisignano and demand he explain these reckless changes and what he’s doing to address SSA’s failures.

Every name sends a clear message: Social Security is not a handout. It’s a benefit Americans pay into with every paycheck. And dismantling it from the inside — by slashing the staff and burying the public in delays — is unacceptable.

On July 3, SSA sent a blatantly political and misleading email to beneficiaries touting the Trump-GOP mega law. It falsely stated: “the new law includes a provision that eliminates federal income taxes on Social Security benefits for most beneficiaries.” Instead of ending taxes on Social Security benefits, the new law includes a $6,000 income tax deduction for older Americans age 65 and older, which is not the same thing.

If you agree Americans deserve a Social Security Administration that is adequately funded, fully staffed and nonpolitical, then please add your name now to our petition. ( [link removed] )

Thank you for standing with us to protect essential services at the Social Security Administration and defend the benefits millions of Americans have paid into and earned.

Sincerely,

Max Richtman
President & CEO

P.S. SSA belongs to the people — not the politicians, not the bureaucrats. If Commissioner Bisignano won’t listen to the millions of Americans being harmed by his policies, then Congress must make him listen. Sign the petition now ( [link removed] ) and demand your lawmakers deliver it to his desk ASAP.
