The Republican’s Big Bad Betrayal Bill was passed through Congress and signed by President Trump earlier this month. It was a devastating moment that involved historic cuts to healthcare, SNAP, and more. But that moment isn’t the last word. We’re not giving up on me, you, or us – and we’re not giving up on our futures.
What was in the bill? This horrific piece of legislation will have an impact on every aspect of our life from Medicaid, health care, and hospitals, to nutrition assistance and immigration enforcement.
This massively large (900+ pages) piece of legislation is big, complicated, and severe–but we’re here to help you break through the noise and learn the truth about what’s in the bill, when the various pieces will go into effect, how you and your family will be impacted, and, importantly, how you can speak out!

The situation needs our attention: The Big Bad Betrayal Bill will take health care away from nearly 17 million people, undermine maternal and child health, and close 300 rural hospitals. It also makes a historically harmful $186 billion cut to SNAP/food stamps and enforces new work requirements and red tape for parents. This awful piece of legislation transfers millions of dollars in K-12 education funding to private schools, defunds Planned Parenthood, and so much more. All of this is done in order to give even more tax cuts to billionaires and to fund Trump’s immigration policies of separating families, human rights abuses, and terrifying hardworking immigrants.
