Apply to Join Action Network's New Emerging Activist Training

Have you ever wondered how major progressive organizations mobilize thousands of people to take action? It is not luck or magic. It is about having the right tools and knowing how to use them.

That is what this new comprehensive training is about.

We are launching our first Emerging Activist Training cohort starting August 18. This is a five-week virtual program where you will learn how to use Action Network and Action Builder to run real campaigns and support real organizing.

You will create an online action that mobilizes supporters. You will write professional emails that move people to take action. You will organize a database to track relationships and develop leaders in your community. You will gain foundational skills in digital organizing and walk away with experience using tools that progressive organizations from around the world rely on every day.

Training schedule:

Mondays and Wednesdays
3:00 to 3:50 PM Eastern Time
August 18 through September 22, 2025
All sessions are virtual

We welcome beginners! If you are a volunteer looking to do more, someone starting out in advocacy work, or part of a nonprofit team, this training is for you. We begin with the basics.

To participate, you should:

Care about advancing progressive causes
Have access to stable Internet connection
Have basic email and computer skills
Be comfortable using video calls
Have some experience volunteering or organizing
Be available during the training times
Be aware that this cohort will be conducted in English (we plan to expand language options in the future!)

Space is limited. We keep our cohorts small to offer real support and build a strong learning environment. The application takes about ten minutes. We ask about your goals and what kind of campaign you would like to build.
