Hi,
Global warming. It's not cool!
Donate to our climate change campaign and we'll send you a
shirt that funds our climate initiatives.
Less than a week after the official
start of summer, this year already is on track to be one of the
hottest on record — and may become the hottest ever. What’s worse:
public health experts worry that this summer's heatwaves are colliding
with the coronavirus pandemic with especially deadly consequences for
poor, minority and older populations.
Where to cool off?
Limited access to home air
conditioning — plus closed cooling centers, malls and public libraries
— hit vulnerable populations especially hard with deadly consequences.
In many cities, public pools are closed, too, probably for the entire
summer and beaches are limiting capacity.
Donate to our
climate change campaign. Wear the shirt that helps us fight global
temperature rise.
Scientists have been warning about
extreme heat waves as a consequence of a planet heated by greenhouse
gas emissions. "The impacts of climate change are no longer subtle,"
Michael Mann, a climate scientist and director of the Earth System
Science Center at Penn State University, told CNN. "We are seeing them
play out in real time in the form of unprecedented heat waves, floods,
droughts and wildfires.”
Join Earth Day Network in
a coordinated program of awareness, education and action to reduce
greenhouse gas emissions. From planting trees to standing up
for science, to demanding action from our leaders, we all need to
stand together to tip the scales and rebalance our planet.
Please show your support by donating and
wearing our official global warming T-shirt.
All proceeds will go to support our
climate change campaign.
