John,
Since its founding in 1965, Head Start has given 38 million children a chance to thrive.
Head Start helps parents become their child’s first and best teacher, equipping them with essential parenting skills to encourage curiosity and actively nurture development.
Just ask Hafeezah, SCAN’s South Carolina State Manager. Curious and bold, her 4-year-old son was a firecracker who struggled in group settings – until their family found Head Start.
“The teachers welcomed us with open arms, patience, encouragement and understanding,” Hafeezah says. “Through hands-on activities, playful learning and songs… I watched my son blossom.”
Today is a National Call-In Day, a chance to show Congress how important this program is to the children, families, and communities it serves.
Tell your members of Congress that Head Start is essential and ask them to do everything to protect Head Start’s future.
