Maine Conservation Voters

Dear John,

Your activism is working! Thanks to thousands of MCV members and our environmental allies in Maine, Gov. Mills called the Legislature back into session for ONE DAY next week, Monday, August 26, to consider unfinished bond proposals.

This could be our chance to finally get Land for Maine's Future (LMF) funding on the ballot this November, but we're up against two big hurdles: 1) Ensuring the Legislature considers the LMF funding proposal, and 2) Achieving the two-thirds threshold needed to pass it.

That's why we need your help one last time to urge your lawmakers in the Maine Legislature to attend Monday's session in Augusta and to vote to fund this critical and wildly popular program responsible for protecting some of our most iconic and beautiful places in Maine.

Click here to send a letter to your lawmakers urging them to vote for LMF funding on Monday.

While MCV and our allies have been pushing for a $40 million bond proposal over 4 years to fund LMF, the Legislature is considering a last-minute compromise for $20 million over 2 years. This is not enough. After years of inaction, $40 million would provide adequate funding to replenish the LMF program and address the maintenance backlog at our state parks.

Please contact your elected officials today and tell them to stand up for LMF and our state parks. Click here to send your personal message.

Thank you for everything you do for the Maine we all love.
