Dear Mr. xxxxxx,

#HillCountryStrong

Last week, I had the honor of speaking on the House floor to pay tribute to the lives lost in the devastating Hill Country floods. You can watch my remarks and the moment of silence here. I’m grateful to the Texas Delegation who stood by my side on the House floor during the remarks. The spirit and resilience of Texans is unmatched.

My team and I remain committed to working closely with local officials, state leaders, federal agencies, and non-governmental organizations to help our community in the aftermath. If you or someone you know has been impacted, I encourage you to contact my offices and visit our website for helpful information here. We will continue to compile resources as become available.

This community is Hill Country Strong. We will grieve together, and we will rebuild together. We will demonstrate the values that make this the greatest part, of the greatest state, of the greatest country known to mankind. God Bless the Texas Hill Country.

(7/19) UPDATE: NUMBER OF REPORTED MISSING FROM JULY 4TH FLOOD DROPS TO THREE (from City of Kerrville/Kerr County)

The Kerr County Flood Disaster Joint Information Center has confirmed that three individuals remain missing currently from the July 4th flood. Through extensive follow-up work among state and local agencies, many individuals who were initially reported as missing have been verified as safe and removed from the list. This has been an ongoing effort as investigators worked diligently to verify reports of missing persons and confirm their status.

“We are profoundly grateful to the more than 1,000 local, state, and federal authorities who have worked tirelessly in the wake of the devastating flood that struck our community,” Kerrville City Manager Dalton Rice said. “Thanks to their extraordinary efforts, the number of individuals previously listed as missing has dropped from over 160 to three.”

“This remarkable progress reflects countless hours of coordinated search and rescue operations, careful investigative work, and an unwavering commitment to bringing clarity and hope to families during an unimaginably difficult time,” Rice said.

“To every member of law enforcement, fire and rescue, emergency management, and supporting agencies — thank you,” Kerr County Judge Rob Kelly said. “Your dedication, professionalism, and compassion have brought comfort and answers to so many."

Kerrville Mayor Joe Herring, Jr. added, “Our thoughts remain with the families still awaiting news, and we will continue to stand with them as efforts persist.”

Recovery operations continue throughout the Guadalupe River watershed by local, state, national and international search teams who continue to work to reunite the missing with their families.

RESCISSIONS PACKAGE PASSES HOUSE
This past week, the House passed a meaningful recissions package aimed at reducing federal spending by more than $9 billion. It’s a small but historically significant step toward fiscal responsibility.

I supported this package because I believe every dollar the federal government spends should be accountable. I’ll continue to advocate for aggressive cuts to federal spending and work to ensure spending measures reflect the priorities and needs of our communities in Texas.

You can watch my recent interview on Fox News with Harris Faulkner discussing the President’s rescissions package and what it means for taxpayers here or below.
