Think of a puppy. These beloved balls of energy need plenty of attention, care and socialization to become happy and healthy. But right now, tens of thousands of puppies and dogs are suffering in massive, federally licensed commercial breeding facilities called puppy mills. Congress has the power to change that, but they need to hear from you now. Will you take just a moment to urge your legislators to support the Puppy Protection Act?
This bill will drastically improve the quality of life for these animals by requiring increased enclosure sizes, solid flooring, exercise, feeding twice per day, socialization, increased veterinary care, and protection from extreme temperatures. It will also impose breeding limits and ensure that federally licensed breeders make reasonable efforts to rehome retired dogs instead of discarding or killing them.
