Dear Free Software Supporter,

The Free Software Foundation (FSF)'s [spring fundraiser][1] has come
to an end. Thank you so much for your help in getting us close to our
ambitious goal of 200 new members in thirty-two days, and a special
thanks to those who continue to renew their support. The motivations
people gave for becoming associate members or renewing their
membership are immensely gratifying. Here are a few:

* *"I use free software every day, and it has touched the lives of
billions worldwide."* -- Neil Banerjee

* *"Freedom from digital capitalism."* -- Ole Aamot

* *"Free software allowed me to learn and become the man I am today. I
strongly believe in the right for everyone to experience what I have
experienced in my life."* -- Mohammad Aijaz

* *" I've been a long time supporter of free software and wanted to be
more involved."* -- Samuel Common

* *"Reviewing all of your analysis and documentation published on
licenses."* -- Paul Knuth

We're extremely thankful for all of the ways you may have contributed.
For instance, you may have taken the time to [explain][2] the concept
of free software to someone else, forwarded one of our [articles][3],
or distributed the [*Free Software Bulletin*][4]. Perhaps you licensed
your program under the [GNU GPLv3 or later][5], or you contributed to
free software by spending some of your spare time writing code. A big
thank you also to those who [pledged to ask someone to become an
associate member][6]. **Because of your help, we managed to welcome
152 new members to our [associate membership program][7] in only
thirty-two days! On top of that, we've received the incredible amount
of $138,679.35 USD thanks to generous donors!**

There are only twelve staff members here at the FSF, so we rely on the
free software community to keep pushing forward in the fight for user
freedom. The support we receive from your financial generosity,
project participation, positive feedback, and sharing of our mission
for user freedom is very much appreciated. We're also grateful for the
thoughtful questions and feedback you sent us in your letters and for
all the inspirational words of support we've received from you over
the past weeks.

We are powered by members, donors, and volunteers like you -- all of
the work that the FSF has accomplished has only been possible with
your help.

A warm thank GNU!
