Last weekend, we hosted town halls in Philadelphia, Richmond, and
Baltimore.

A woman spoke about how much progress she’s seen in her lifetime—on civil
rights, social rights, and reproductive freedom—and how afraid she is that
it’s all being rolled back.

A recent college graduate talked about the businesses closing in her
hometown. Roads falling apart. Jobs gone. She’s doing everything right,
and still wonders if there’s any future for her or her generation there.

A man told us how he’s spent hours speaking to Senators and
Representatives—doing everything he can to sound the alarm on the current
administration’s attacks on our democracy. And he’s not done. He’s fired
up to keep going.

It’s people showing up for each other, having hard conversations, and
asking the urgent questions: how do we pull ourselves out of the deep
trouble we’re in and replace it with something far better?

We also give people the chance to take action, volunteering for local
groups who are registering and organizing on the ground. It’s an important
step in building the power we need to win.

But none of this happens unless we’re there—in person, face to face,
across party lines and zip codes.
