First they gutted Medicaid and SNAP to pay for tax cuts for the rich. Now they’re coming after public media.
And just like with Medicaid and SNAP, the people who’ll feel it the most are working families — especially in the more rural parts of CA-25 — folks who rely on public media to stay informed, help their kids keep learning, and get the kind of local reporting national outlets ignore.
They’re not doing this because it saves money. They’re doing it because they’ve decided that if something helps everyday people — if it’s not lining the pockets of billionaires — it’s not worth funding.

The son of hardworking farmworkers, Dr. Ruiz grew up in Coachella, CA and learned at an early age that the key to attaining the American Dream is hard work and a great education. In the summer of 1990, Raul walked in the desert heat from business to business in the Coachella Valley asking them to invest in their community by contributing to his education. With each investment for college, he made a promise to come back home and serve his community as a physician. In 2012, he decided to take his service to the community to the next level by running for Congress. Dr. Ruiz needs our help to continue fighting for us in Congress.
