Dear John,
This summer we’ve been all hands on deck to fight for our public lands. We’ve learned that public pressure is exactly what we need to win and protect our public lands from the unprecedented attacks we’ve recently seen on them: from staff layoffs, to proposed sell offs, and even threats to open them up to extraction. In our efforts, we asked our members to share stories about their connection to our treasured public lands and the support we received was vast.
We’re doing all that we can to stop the attack on public lands, but we need your support. Will you make a donation now on behalf of this fight? |
I’d like to share one of our member stories with you. This story was submitted by Dave Arnold from Bend, Oregon:
My grandfather was a park ranger in Yellowstone and so was my grandmother. She was the first female ranger in the world. My dad was raised in Yellowstone and passed the love for outdoors to me and my brother and sister. We moved to Alaska where we lived the outdoor dreams with way too many stories to tell over my 30 years there. Trapped on the wrong side of the Talkeetna river, lost in the harding ice field, swam all night to get back to shore in resurrection bay, chased by a polar bear etc. Now we live in Bend and it's my turn to share outdoor experiences with my children. I love how they both love the outdoors and will pass this legacy on to the next generation.
If Dave’s story reminds you of your own connection to these incredible places, will you donate now and help us protect them for generations to come?
