About the job
As a Grounds Irrigation Specialist, you will perform skilled, journey-level work focused on maintaining, repairing, installing, and testing irrigation systems across more than 250 acres of the Washington State Capitol Campus and off-campus properties. You will be solely responsible for the installation and testing of irrigation system backflow devices, requiring a valid backflow certification/license. This role includes monitoring water usage for agency reporting, performing minor carpentry and low-voltage electrical work on computerized irrigation systems, and installing irrigation control boxes. Working independently with minimal supervision, you will also support general grounds maintenance and operate groundskeeping equipment as needed.
