Dear John,

Driving is a way of life for many of us. Here in Maine, public transportation options are slim and the average car travels 12,000 miles every year. No wonder transportation is responsible for more than half of our state’s climate-changing carbon emissions—and no wonder advocates for climate action are focused on improving and modernizing the way we move people and goods from place to place.

This Friday, June 19th, join us for a Lunch & Learn webinar exploring opportunities to invest in a clean, modern, and equitable transportation system. Please RSVP here >> [[link removed]]

Nearly a dozen Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states have been working together through the Transportation Climate Initiative (TCI) to design a regional market-based cap-and-invest program that tackles the environmental and capital needs of our transportation system and meets the needs of all residents. Maine is still only monitoring TCI, but our neighbors are already planning how TCI revenue can transform transportation and support healthy communities. Angela Johnson-Rodriguez , Statewide Organizing Director at Transportation for Massachusetts [[link removed]] , will share how advocates in Massachusetts are working with state agencies to define equitable transportation investments, develop plans for geographic equity, and advance transportation justice. Register to join us! [[link removed]]

We hope to see you (on Zoom) this Friday!

Kathleen
