Until recently, the Department of Homeland Security had guidelines preventing immigration enforcement at certain off-limits places such as courthouses. Of course, that was thrown out the window once Donald Trump became president again, all in the name of hitting their arrest and deportation quotas.
Since then, masked, unidentified ICE agents have sabotaged immigration hearings at courts across the country, targeting immigrants and asylum seekers trying to obtain legal documentation and citizenship.
Now, civil rights groups are fighting back with a lawsuit against the Trump administration, asking the courts to reverse this cruel policy and stop ICE from punishing immigrants trying to follow the law.
