![]() Friend, I was just on MSNBC to discuss the Trump administration's latest lawless demands — this time for state election data — and the actions we’ve taken to safeguard Colorado’s free and fair elections. The Department of Justice is now asking for private information, requesting state election data, and threatening possible criminal charges against state or local election officials. Let me be clear: This is an attack on our state's independent authority to administer elections. It is unprecedented, it’s outrageous — and it is blatantly unconstitutional. I want you to know that I will always protect Colorado’s right to manage our elections, as provided for in the U.S. Constitution. In 2020, I argued at the U.S. Supreme Court that Colorado has the right to protect its elections — and we won. I’m now fighting back, just like we did back in April, after Donald Trump issued an executive order meddling in Colorado’s gold standard for free and fair elections — and obtained a preliminary injunction protecting Colorado. The Constitution is very clear about this. States have authority over elections, not the federal government. As the People’s Lawyer, I’ve defended the freedom to vote here in Colorado. I will always stand firm against any and all attacks on Colorado’s election security — from rogue public officials to the President of the United States. I refuse to sit by and watch when Coloradans’ rights are threatened. If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:
