Mark officially has a Republican Senate opponent: Daniel Gade.

I'm going to outline our plan to defeat Gade and re-elect Mark Warner this November, but first I want to briefly tell you why that is so important. Mark's opponent has spent his entire campaign up to this point convincing voters that he will be a 100% reliable vote for the Trump agenda. We have every reason to believe him. From Gade's opposition to Medicaid expansion, which has given health care to hundreds of thousands of Virginians, to saying Trump's "leadership" on coronavirus "has been great," Gade has been in lock-step with the Trump agenda. That's why it is so important we do everything we can to help re-elect Mark this November.

Friend, I want to thank you for everything you've done for this campaign. We can't slow down now -- we've got to carry the momentum to November 3rd.

As Mark's campaign manager, it's my job to consider all the possible outcomes. And I'm always reminded of what happened in 2014: Mark's Republican candidate exceeded even Republicans' expectations, beat his polls and came within one percentage point of unseating Mark. To make sure that doesn't happen again, we need to run the most sophisticated campaign the Commonwealth has ever seen. And the fact is, coronavirus and the important social distancing measures present a major challenge that will require big investments in digital tools and other innovative methods of turning out voters for Mark Warner and Democrats up and down the ballot.

Your support will be crucial to running that sophisticated campaign. So, can you help us hit our end-of-month goal of 1,000 new donors by pitching in today? With the Republican primary over, they'll be sending every dollar and cent they have to Mark's new opponent so they can flip this seat.

The path to a Democratic Senate starts right here in our Commonwealth, but this will not be an easy fight. If we want to turn the Senate blue, we'll need to first defend this seat with everything we've got.
