A couple of weeks ago, we asked: “What ‘nation-building projects’ should the Green Party fight for?”

More than 450 of you took the time to share your vision, and here’s what we heard.

Clean energy dominated the conversation. Your top “nation-building project” was one the Green Party has championed for years: a fully connected national electrical grid to power communities from coast to coast to coast with clean, renewable energy.

Democracy and electoral reform sparked passionate responses. The words proportional representation appeared again and again, alongside calls for “a democracy that actually represents us” and “an end to winner-take-all politics.”

Housing emerged as a generational priority. Younger respondents called for “affordable housing for all” and “co-operative housing models,” while older supporters focused on “homes for our children and grandchildren.”

But what struck us most was the remarkable consistency of your vision — across age groups, regions, and backgrounds.

Whether you're 25 or 75, whether you live in downtown Vancouver or rural Nova Scotia, you see a Canada that could be fairer, more livable, and more democratic.

“We should be planning for a clean energy future.”
“Democracy is stronger when voters have real choices.”
“Nation-building means making sure everyone has a place to call home.”

Over the next few weeks, we’ll dive deeper into each of your top priorities. Each email in this series will be grounded in what you told us matters most.

While the Liberals and Conservatives push for pipelines, we’ll amplify your call for renewable power. While other parties accept a broken electoral system, we’ll keep fighting for a democracy that works. While housing remains unaffordable, we’ll push for solutions that actually make a difference.

But we can’t do this without you.

This isn’t just a listening exercise — it’s a launchpad. The ideas you’ve shared are powerful. They deserve to be amplified. They deserve to shape this country.
