The Texas Legislature convenes today for a special session — which will include a big fight over Greg Abbott and Donald Trump’s attempt to gerrymander Texas’s congressional maps ahead of the midterms.
Put simply: Trump knows that his toxic agenda will cost him the midterms – so he’s decided the only way he can win is by cheating.
If Trump and Abbott get their way, Texas’s maps will be rigged to give Republicans FIVE new congressional seats that could help them keep control of the House of Representatives.
That’s why we have to do everything in our power to stop them. My Democratic colleagues in Congress and the Legislature are preparing to fight this battle in congress, in the courts, and at the ballot box. But we need all the help we can get.
