We wanted to make sure you saw this update from Friday:
It is illegal for the Trump administration to share the private, sensitive data of Medicaid recipients with ICE — and Attorney General Bonta is fighting back.
He’s already filed a lawsuit against the administration and is moving quickly to secure a court order to block this unprecedented and unlawful move.
Thanks for your time,

The Associated Press is now reporting that the Trump administration is illegally providing the personal data of Medicaid recipients to Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
I’m deeply disturbed by this.
When we received early reports of illegal data sharing earlier in the month, I took immediate action and filed a lawsuit against the administration to stop them. Despite that, it appears that the Trump administration has entered a new illegal data sharing agreement with ICE. Trump is trying to use personal, private, and sensitive data to build a mass deportation machine — we can’t allow it to continue.
This is horrifying, illegal, and a violation of our privacy. If you agree we need to stop Trump from breaking the law to fuel his anti-immigrant agenda, please add your name to my petition now.
I just went on MSNBC to talk about this issue and make sure everyone knows about this unprecedented move from the federal government — you can watch the interview here.
It’s devastating to think that people across California and the country may be too afraid to seek the medical care they need out of fear that they will be targeted by Trump and ICE.
We cannot allow this to continue. I’m moving as quickly as possible to secure a court order blocking this unlawful and unprecedented data sharing agreement with ICE. Updates to come.
Thanks for standing up and speaking out with me.
