The tragic fact is that because of this vote, millions of children won’t get the food, shelter, protection and education they need to survive and thrive.

The administration thought it’d be easy to cancel this funding. You made sure it wasn’t. Despite the outcome, we were just one vote shy of stopping this bill – and lawmakers from both parties stood with us.
$400 million was returned to the State Department to support children and families affected by HIV/AIDS, and other lifesaving programs were spared from the funding cuts.
It’s not enough... but it’s a start.
