While we are in an extraordinary moment of reckoning - and hopefully, systemic, structural, lasting change to dismantle white supremacy - the need to protect and expand access to abortion remains clear and constant.

Who we elect to office, at all levels of government, matters, and can have heightened impact on those most marginalized in our communities.

At NIRH Action Fund, we believe that when we go on the offensive, the fabric of reproductive freedom becomes harder to tear apart. This is why we fight side-by-side with state and local advocates for laws and lawmakers to ensure abortion is affordable, accessible, and available without shame, pressure, or punishment.

When we elected lawmakers who will fight for us in New York and Virginia, they wasted no time in passing laws that protect reproductive freedom. (And just yesterday in New York we saw the likely election of pro-choice champion, Jessica González-Rojas, to the Assembly in Queens!). We can't stop there! This fall, the NIRH Action Fund is working in key battleground states such as Arizona and Pennsylvania to flip their statehouses to a majority in support of reproductive freedom. [link removed]

No matter what the Supreme Court does or who sits in Congress or the White House, states and localities can provide greater protections for our rights and access to reproductive healthcare if they have lawmakers who support reproductive freedom.
