john,

Kim’s bill to bring more transparency and accountability to hydropower just passed the House—with bipartisan support.

This is a major win for clean energy. Hydropower is one of the most reliable sources of renewable electricity. It’s already powering homes, businesses, and communities—especially here in the Pacific Northwest.

But right now, outdated permitting rules are holding it back. Many hydro projects are stuck in a long and confusing relicensing process that can take more than a decade. That slows down clean energy and hurts Washington. Kim’s bill ensures that this process is more transparent by requiring the federal government to clearly report where each project stands and what’s causing delays.

And here’s why it matters—hydropower is:

-- Zero-emission. There's no burning, no smog, no carbon. Just clean energy from flowing water.
-- 24/7 reliable. It runs day and night, rain or shine. Unlike solar or wind, hydro is always “on.”
-- Grid-stabilizing. Can ramp up fast when demand spikes, reducing reliance on coal or gas backups.

This is the only bipartisan energy bill to pass the House so far this year—and Kim is just getting started.

Kim is fighting tooth and nail to modernize how we build and maintain clean energy infrastructure, and this bill moves us in the right direction. Now, we’re building support to keep the momentum going.

Add your name to urge the Senate to pass Kim’s bill and take the next step toward clean, reliable energy.
