John, I just wanted to check in after a tough few weeks.

It’s hard to celebrate our democracy at a time when Republicans are gleefully ripping millions of people off their health care. 

It’s easy to feel frustrated, overwhelmed, or downright hopeless for the future, but I have to tell you, John: we can’t give up. That’s exactly what they want us to do. Right now, as states are looking for ways to close the shortfall left by this disastrous budget, our communities are going to need us the most.

Right now, the best thing we can do to fight back is by standing with one another, connecting people to resources, continuing to keep our eyes on oversight and accountability, and getting back to the work that is needed to keep our communities afloat.

Please continue to take care of yourself, first/end, and get the rest you need. Because we’re going to need you in top shape for this fight to put power back into the hands of working people.
