Friend,

Trump's tax bill is a reverse Robin Hood scheme on steroids. Whereas Robin Hood took from the rich and gave to the poor, President Trump and his allies in Congress have done just the opposite -- and on an astronomical scale.

Let's talk specifics: Trump's tax bill cuts $1.3 trillion (remember that number) in healthcare and food assistance programs. Low-income Americans rely on this assistance, both for life-saving medical procedures and everyday groceries. Trump's signature achievement is ripping away healthcare from 17 million Americans and allowing 5 million Americans ( including [[link removed]] 800,000 children and half a million seniors) to go hungry.

What's the point of this cruelty? Well, the Republican tax bill provides exactly $1.3 trillion in tax cuts for Americans who make over $500,000 a year. In other words, it takes money out of the pockets of the poorest Americans to line the pockets of the richest Americans.

Is this the sort of populism that President Trump's supporters had in mind when they supported him?
