The question is pretty simple… So, does it matter?

**BREAKING NEWS***

The Bear on the California State Flag Has Moved To Texas!

Courtesy of our friends at the Babylon Bee, a little sarcasm to start your Sunday trip through this ICYMI post. “Monarch” (apparently the bear has a name) is OUT, and guess who is IN? Story here.

As always we ask that if you are enjoying So, Does It Matter? That you share it with a few friends! Here’ a handy link!

Okay, the week that was on the “So, Does It Matter?” Substack!

  1. Vice President Vance Gives A Heck Of A Speech In California. Earlier this month the Vice President was the honored guest of the Claremont Institute in San Diego County. In this column I give a pretty in-depth synopsis of Vance’s speech, and give you links to read it, listen to it, or even watch it

  1. Federal Government to California: No More Federal $ For High Speed Rail. We knew it was coming, but this last week the federal government officially pulled the plug on federal taxpayer funding of Gavin Newsom’s controversial, and overwhelmingly expensive “high speed train to nowhere” project. All of the details are here…

  2. Gavin Newsom vs. The California State Constitution. Governor Abbot is talking about having Texas do a mid-decade redistricting, basically to reduce blue seats and increase red seats. Newsom has threatened publicly to do the same, except to turn red districts to blue. The problem? In Texas the (very Republican) state legislature gets to redraw lines. In California, we have an independent redistricting commission that does this. My full analysis is available by clicking the link below

  3. California Patriot Profile: HJTA President Jon Coupal! Every week we profile someone who is fighting hard for liberty and freedom here in the Golden State. This week we profile Jon Coupal, who is probably the most consequential taxpayer champion in this state in a generation. As President of the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association, Jon’s been leading the fight against higher taxes in California for a quarter-century

  4. Progressivism In California Is So Bad, It’s Screwing Dogs & Cats. Local government budgets are being squeezed between spending on outlandish lest wing projects and causes, and unsustainable salaries and benefits of workers, represented by aggressive public employee unions. City’s are running out of money to pay for core functions, including animal services

Last week we had 11 different original items published on So, Does It Matter. If you do some math, we featured five of them above… That leaves 6 more… Miss any of those? Click to the main page below and scroll down to see anything you may have missed!

ONE VIDEO! This week Attorney General Pam Bondi and Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum went to Alcatraz Island in the middle of the San Francisco Bay to assess the possibility of reopening the former federal prison there. I have an opinion about this. And recorded a video commentary, which is below.

  1. ONE GREAT VIDEO - Having returned a great, long family vacation, it’s taking me a while to get back in the groove. But I did post up on video commentary. Below I go through the dynamics surrounding the U.S. Department of Education ordering the California Department of Education, and the CIF, to stop allowing boys to play in girls competitive sports. After two weeks, they responded…. Check it out. And then below the video, is what happened later in the week on this issue.

Two more things!

First, a very happy birthday to the AMAZING Carlos Santana - one of the greatest guitarists ever to play. Here he is playing The Game of Love with Michelle Branch, off of the Shaman album in 2002 (yikes, the years fly by!).

Second, tomorrow is the anniversary of the landing of Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin on the surface of the moon. Apollo 11’s journey will never be forgotten. There is never a bad time to watch maybe the iconic 34 seconds in the history of space travel…

Have a great Sunday!

Jon
