Friends,
Congress recently passed President Trump’s rescissions package, and I was proud to support it. This legislation responsibly rolls back more than $9 billion in previously approved spending, targeting programs that offered little benefit to the American people, including unnecessary foreign aid and ideological initiatives overseas.
These funds were not advancing our national interest, and I believe taxpayers deserve better. This package is a step in the right direction—refocusing federal spending on real priorities and ensuring that your hard-earned dollars are used wisely and effectively.
As always, I’m honored to represent you and remain committed to responsible leadership in Washington.
Sincerely,

Get Ready Now— Hurricane Preparedness Starts at Home
As we navigate the hurricane season, it’s important to remember that taking a little time to prepare now and encouraging your friends and neighbors to do the same is a wonderful way to help build a stronger, more resilient community. Here are some simple steps you can take, along with free resources available, to help you and your family get ready.
- Get a Kit: Ensure your emergency kit is ready with at least a seven-day supply of non-perishable food and water, essential medications, a first aid kit, flashlights, and supplies for babies and pets—including food, water, leashes, medications, and vaccination records. The full Emergency Essentials Checklist can be found at www.readyharris.org under Get Prepared.
- Make a Plan: Residents living in an evacuation zone should be familiar with their evacuation routes and follow the instructions from local authorities. To find out if your home is in an evacuation zone, check the Zip Zone Evacuation Map.
- Assistance during an Evacuation: If you or someone you know may need help during an evacuation, sign up with the State of Texas Emergency Assistance Registry (STEAR) online or call 2-1-1 to register. This free service is available to medically fragile individuals, those with access or functional needs, and those who may require transportation assistance during an emergency event.
- Flood Insurance: Homeowners, renters, and business owners are encouraged to get flood insurance, even if they have never experienced flooding. For residents who already have coverage, verify that the policy is still active.
- Stay Informed: Be weather aware and stay informed before, during, and after a storm this hurricane season. Sign up to receive weather and emergency alerts at www.readyharris.org and text GULF2025 to 888777 for hurricane season updates. Stay informed by signing up for Ready Harris Alerts or Ready Harris Accessible Alerts.

Honoring the Victims of the Kerr County Floods
This week, my colleagues from Texas and I came together to remember those who were tragically lost in the Hill Country floods, including families like the Wilsons and heroes like Dick Eastland. We honored the bravery of first responders and the incredible resilience shown by these communities in the face of such adversity. To the girls from Camp Mystic and all those who have been affected: please know that Texas stands with you, and you are not alone during this difficult time.

Rescissions Package
Congress approved President Trump’s rescissions package, which cuts over $9 billion in wasteful spending, including $8 billion in foreign aid. Here are a few of the programs being cut:
- $460 million for gender and climate programs in Europe and Central Asia
- $125 million for a “Clean Technology Fund” promoting Green New Deal projects abroad
- $2.5 billion in aid to corrupt regimes
- $436 million for UN programs that botched COVID and undermined U.S. interests
- $125 million for Green New Deal projects abroad
- $83 million for “democracy promotion” programs that often fund anti-American NGOs
- $27 million for projects like “recycler equity” in Bolivia and DEI outreach in Brazil
- $22 million to the African Development Foundation for niche cultural grants
- $800 million for refugee programs misused to support open-border agendas
- $1.1 billion in funding for PBS and NPR, including international programming like Sesame Street in Iraq
These weren’t investments but ideological giveaways with no benefit to American families. The package redirects taxpayer dollars to serve U.S. interests.

One Big Beautiful Bill
President Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill is a game-changer for working families and our national security. It permanently expands the Child Tax Credit, helping over 40 million families with the cost of raising children. It delivers an average of $10,000 more in take-home pay, ends taxes on tips, overtime, and Social Security, and makes the Trump tax cuts permanent. It rebuilds our military, secures the border with funding for the wall and mass deportations, and restores American energy dominance by reversing Biden’s failed green agenda. Here's how the One Beautiful Bill impacts Texas:
- 580,000 Jobs Protected
- $3,900 - $6,900 in Real Wage Increase
- $7,500 - $10,700 in Real Take-Home Pay Increase
- 4,000,000 Seniors Benefiting from No Tax on Social Security
- 85,000 Opportunity Zone Jobs Created
- 20,000 Opportunity Zone Housing Units Created

SITREP 20: Missiles, Minerals, & American Dominance
In this SITREP, I break down how President Trump brought the hammer down on Putin. Additionally, major developments are unfolding in the race to make America the global leader in AI and critical minerals, as well as a radical protest movement gaining traction in Mexico, which aims to expel American nationals. And Texas’s special session could have huge consequences for national politics. All that and more in under 14 minutes. |
