The “Big Beautiful Bill” that Trump signed into law on July 4th just keeps getting worse. Buried in its 1,116 pages is a deeply harmful provision that restricts Medicaid funding for nonprofits that offer abortion care.
It was designed to target health care organizations like Planned Parenthood and to prevent access to abortion care across the country. This is a backdoor abortion ban.
This is an all out attack on reproductive freedom, as well as on patients who rely on places like Planned Parenthood for non-abortion related services, like birth control, cancer screenings, and STI tests.
MAGA politicians are trying to score political points by rolling back our rights and punishing the people who can least afford it. And they’re doing it while ignoring the real crises American families are facing every day, from unaffordable child care to out-of-control prescription drug prices.
In Congress, I’m doing everything I can to fight back and secure reproductive freedom for everyone. But I can’t do it alone.
