In just over 24 hours, over 30,000 50,000 80,000 people have signed our petition telling CBS "America needs Stephen Colbert’s voice now more than ever. Save the Late Show."
People understand that this is about much more than a beloved TV show. It’s about more than whether a big corporation paid a bribe to a president. This is about whether we live in a democracy or a dictatorship. Even the media sees it:
The Washington Post: The End of Colbert’s ‘Late Show’ has Implications Beyond Late-night TV
MSNBC's Chris Hayes: It’s not really an overstatement to say that the test of a free society is whether or not comedians can make fun of the country’s leader on TV without repercussions.
What we do right now will have immense implications for our future. To save Stephen Colbert's voice - and our own - in our national debate, CBS needs to see massive public pushback RIGHT AWAY.
THEN, PLEASE FORWARD THIS EMAIL TO OTHERS. Let's get a hundred thousand petition signatures by the time the Sunday morning news shows cover this story tomorrow.
Thanks for pushing back against this awful attempt to silence criticism of Trump. Let's do this...
-- Adam Green, PCCC co-founder
P.S. The media are watching. Lets make sure they see the American people fight back, not roll over!
