The New York Times: Wisconsin Supreme Court Strikes Down 1849 Abortion Ban

Since Roe v. Wade was overturned 3 years ago, anti-choice extremists have been trying to get Wisconsin to enforce a ban on abortion from 1849.

The law would have criminalized abortion and could have sent providers to prison just for providing Wisconsinites the reproductive healthcare they deserved!

But thankfully, the Wisconsin Supreme Court recently stood up for abortion rights and officially BLOCKED the state from enforcing that outdated, extreme anti-abortion law!

This is a BIG win for abortion rights in Wisconsin — and we’re so glad that the state’s Supreme Court delivered a victory for reproductive freedom.
