An alternative to the present geopolitical confrontation against
Russia, China, and the BRICS+ nations was presented succinctly by
panelists from Africa, Asia, Europe, and North and South America in
the Berlin conference of the Schiller Institute.
The Times of India, the largest English-language daily in the
world, recently published an article reporting on the conference,
thoughtfully titled, “Is Europe Becoming the Frontline of a Military
Battlefield Against Russia?” The article reported specifically on the
keynote address of Helga Zepp-LaRouche, and the speeches of CIA
analyst Ray McGovern and Russian analyst Dmitri Trenin. Significant
attention was focused on Trenin’s remarks, from the Times of India,
“Europe is intent on becoming the frontline of the military
battlefield against Russia,” he said.
He warned that this narrative is being used to rationalize a
long-term military buildup, including long-range weapons systems and
the deployment of troops to the Ukrainian front, based on the
dangerously misguided assumption that Russia will not
retaliate. “The current situation,” he said, “is even more
dangerous than during the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962. But there is
still a narrow window of hope, if meaningful action is taken at this
eleventh hour.”
There is still hope, as Trenin suggests, with the combined forces
of responsible citizens who choose to work with the Schiller
Institute, International Peace Coalition, and other bodies associated
with the LaRouche Movement. You can be involved, for example, by
helping to spread the new Schiller Institute statement, “A Two-State
Solution, Not a Final Solution,” ahead of the July 28-29 UN meeting
for a two-state solution between Israel and Palestine.
Today’s program will feature Harley Schlanger, TLO spokesman, and
Kynan Thistlethwaite, LaRouche organizer who will report on his trip
in Europe.
