Dear John,
Earlier this week, NIAC brought together over 50 community members for something we’ve never done before—a mental health and wellness session led by three incredible Iranian American mental health professionals. The session included guided meditation, expert talks on trauma and healing, breakout conversations, and practical self-care strategies — all completely free—at a time when our community needed it most.
The response to this has been inspiring and it has many of us thinking about how organizations like NIAC can support our community's wellbeing while we're also fighting the big fights—whether that's preventing bombs landing on our families back home, the travel ban, or unlawful immigration enforcement here.
A Huge Thank You to our Cultural Committee (which you can join!)
Huge thanks to NIAC's volunteer Cultural Committee—they made this happen. The Cultural Committee is perfect if you want to get involved in community work that focuses on connection and not politics (though let's be honest, simply being Iranian is political these days).
