On the ground right now are National Guard units, Service Members from Joint Base San Antonio, and local heroes working side by side to stabilize and restore what was lost. They’re not just cleaning up debris—they’re comforting neighbors, moving mountains, and standing strong in the face of heartbreak. These brave men and women are serving in unimaginable conditions: heat, exhaustion, and emotional tolls that don’t make the news. ![]() Airmen assigned to Joint Base San Antonio clear debris during recovery operations in Hunt, Texas, July 11, 2025.
