John, Pepsi is walking back its commitment to use less plastic.1 Even as plastic production, waste and pollution accelerate, the company is weakening or eliminating plastic reduction goals it set just four years ago. People consume Pepsi products more than 1 billion times a day.2 Imagine all of the plastic bottles and containers tossed away once those products are consumed. Pepsi can and should do more to reduce plastic pollution. Will you add your name to help convince the company to recommit to its goals? Business as usual just won't cut it, not with plastic pollution rapidly increasing year after year. Four years ago, in response to consumer and shareholder demand, Pepsi committed to take some small, but not insignificant steps to phase out plastic and switch to reusable, compostable and recyclable alternatives.
