VIDEO OF THE DAY: Trump declares war on his closest ally with stunning lawsuit
In a dramatic escalation that could prove to have far-ranging consequences, Donald Trump announced that he was going to "sue the ass off" of the man possibly most singularly responsibly for all of his political success, Fox News owner Rupert Mudoch, for allowing the Wall Street Journal to publish the story about his creepy and possibly incriminating birthday letter to serial pedophile and sex trafficker Jeffery Epstein. The president channeled his inner Dr. Evil in his demands for...TEN BILLION DOLLARS. While Trump may have been able to easily bully the likes of CBS and ABC, he's going to find that Murdoch and his army of lawyers will not fold so easily. Brian Tyler Cohen and Adam Klasfeld break down the tidal wave of implications and possible ripple effects from this cataclymic split in MAGAworld.
Take Action: Tell Congress to release the Epstein files!
FBI personnel were told to flag Epstein files mentioning Trump, Senate Democrat says
Well, well, well. Sen. Dick Durbin has revealed that FBI agents were specifically told to flag any of the Jeffery Epstein files — which, according to the Trump administration, are a fake scam written by Hillary Clinton — that mentioned Donald Trump for...what, exactly is unclear. One could assume that they were flagged for removal and possible destruction, which is why Durbin is demanding answers from DOJ. Durbin also questioned AG Pam Bondi about "contradictions" in her public statements on the case and FBI Director Kash Patel about reports that he was "pressured" by Bondi to place 1,000 personnel on 24-hour shifts to mine roughly 100,000 Epstein-related records. Sure seems like a lot of manpower to deploy on a fake scam written by Hillary Clinton.
Arkansas farmer takes on one of the worst Senators we’ve EVER had
Hallie Shoffner for Senate: For over a decade, Tom Cotton has been working to gut the social safety net, handing out tax breaks to billionaires, and trying to drag the United States to get involved in every possible foreign war — even leading the infamous 46 GOP Senators who backstabbed President Obama with their letter to Iran. It’s time to replace him with Hallie Shoffner, who is running for the Senate to fight for the Americans that Tom Cotton’s spent ten years shoving to the back of the line. She’s not a politician, she’s not much for political parties, and she’s never run for office in her life—the only thing Hallie ever wanted to do was farm. But if she can’t farm, she’s going to fight. For ALL US! Will you chip in to help jump-start her campaign and kick one of the worst of the worst Republicans out of the Senate for good?
USDA ends key support for Black farmers amid Trump anti-DEI orders
Don't worry guys, according to the Trump administration, racism is over and we don't need special programs to ensure that Black and brown farmers get the same opportunities and tools to level the playing field. U.S. Rep. Shontel Brown, a Democrat from Ohio who is a vice ranking member on the House Committee on Agriculture, said this is “[President Donald] Trump’s resegregation agenda...It’s no secret that the Department has a long history of locking out and leaving behind Black, Brown, and Indigenous farmers,” Brown wrote in a statement. “Now, this administration is taking a deliberate and disgraceful step backward on the path to attempt to right the historic wrongs. The ‘socially disadvantaged’ designation was a long overdue recognition of the barriers to land, credit, and opportunity that farmers of color have faced for generations.” USDA officials did not respond to a question about the potential impact this policy will have on programs or on farmers of color, which means they don't know and they don't care.
GHF guards gassed starving and fenced-in Palestinians, causing a deadly stampede
Guards at the US and Israeli-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation threw stun grenades and used pepper spray on a crowd of starving Palestinians in a horrifying display of wanton violence. At least 21 people were killed in the incident, according to the Gaza health ministry, and 15 of them died from suffocation due to the gas and the stampede at the site—what the ministry now calls “death traps”—while six others were shot on the road leading to it. “It was a terrifying sight,” witness Haitham al-Batniji told Drop Site News. “The Americans were spraying pepper gas at us; it burns and affects the nervous system of the human body. You just can't handle it. You’re under pressure. The people are all pushed together and all trampling on each other. There is no air and you feel shortness of breath—everyone wants to go get their food.” Over 870 Palestinians have been killed in near daily aid massacres since the GHF began operating in Gaza in late May, with Israeli troops and American contractors opening fire on men, women, and children desperately seeking food.
EPA eliminates research and development office as it begins layoffs
3,700 employees will be laid off as the Trump team begins gutting the EPA, all to save some $750 million — a drop in the bucket compared to the trillions that the GOP just added to the deficit with their tax cuts for the rich. The agency said they were going to create a new Office of Applied Science and Environmental Solutions that will allow it to focus on research and science “more than ever before," which raises the question of why fire everyone and restructure in the first place. Can't think of any reason why we might need environmental research these days. Not a one. Man, it is HOT outside.
