More amazing news from New York, John: Ritchie Torres just WON his race for New York’s 15th Congressional District!!
We’re so excited that Ritchie WON this pivotal primary! This victory is particularly sweet: not only will Ritchie be the first LGBTQ Afro-Latinx member of Congress , but he defeated one of New York’s biggest bigots – Rubén DÃaz Sr! DÃaz is a virulent homophobe with a 20+ year history of making bigoted remarks about LGBTQ people on the record, campaigned against marriage equality and more. But now that DÃaz is done, Ritchie is on-track to make LGBTQ history in one of the country’s bluest districts and be a strong pro-equality voice in the U.S. House!
This shows that we can beat bigots like DÃaz at the ballot box. Help keep the momentum going - and help our candidates keep winning! Donate today! [[link removed]]
We're still waiting on more results and we'll keep you updated as they come. Take some time to celebrate these amazing victories tonight!
Thanks again for helping us make history!

LGBTQ Victory Fund has helped thousands of openly LGBTQ candidates win elections up and down the ballot, from sea to shining sea since our founding in 1991. We believe representation is power so we elected U.S. Senators Tammy Baldwin and Kyrsten Sinema, Governors Jared Polis and Kate Brown, all seven LGBTQ members of U.S. Congress and countless candidates for state and local government, including Virginia Delegate Danica Roem, Colorado state Representative Leslie Herod and Pennsylvania Assemblymember Brian Sims. And with an unprecedented number of LGBTQ people running for office in this year, we’ll need your support to make 2020 the next Rainbow Wave.
