Annalee’s journey with Sierra Club Outings began early—she's been attending trips since she was a kid. In 2016, after a particularly memorable outing in the Sierras, she was recruited by her trip leaders to join the ranks herself.
For Annalee, the heart of National Outings is its conservation mission. She loves that people rarely leave our trips without gaining some knowledge about conservation issues. Whether it’s advocacy, policy, or just a deeper appreciation for the natural world, Annalee has seen firsthand how participants become more informed and inspired to take action. One of her most moving moments came during a recent redwoods trip when a 75-year-old participant—brand new to camping and outdoor recreation—experienced the wonder of nature up close for the very first time. Witnessing that transformation, she says, is what it’s all about.
We're deeply grateful to Annalee—and to all of our incredible volunteer leaders—who give their time, passion, and heart to help others build lasting connections with wild places.
Thank you, Annalee, for your service with Sierra Club Outings!
